The group, the Low Cost Housing Developers Association of Nigeria, has reiterated its commitment to addressing Nigeria’s critical housing deficit by creating sustainable, accessible, and affordable housing solutions for its citizens.
President of the association, Mr Emmanuel Ogbeide, who spoke with South South Punch in Benin on Wednesday, said the body plans to do this in conjunction with key stakeholders in the sector
He said LCHDA has invited all public and private sector stakeholders to join a strategic nationwide partnership.
Ogbeide said that with a housing deficit affecting millions and obstructing national socio-economic progress, the call to action emphasises that a solo approach is no longer viable, noting that solving this challenge demands an unprecedented collaborative effort to unlock innovation, mobilise vast resources, and implement impactful projects.
He said, “The scale of Nigeria’s housing challenge is matched only by the magnitude of opportunity it presents for unified action. We are calling on every segment of society, from the federal government to the local artisan, from financial institutions to traditional rulers, to contribute their unique expertise and resources.
“Our shared vision is to provide affordable, sustainable, and quality housing for all Nigerians, and this can only be achieved together.”
Ogbeide said stakeholders who were ready to work with included government agencies at the federal, state, and local government levels, financial Institutions, industry professionals and many others.
He added, “This partnership represents a historic opportunity to leave a lasting legacy of durable, inclusive, and affordable homes for millions of Nigerians, fostering widespread socio-economic development for generations to come.
“The LCHDA is a leading industry body dedicated to promoting the development of affordable, quality, and sustainable housing in Nigeria. I believe that through advocacy, collaboration, and capacity building, the Association can empower members and partners to effectively address the nation’s housing deficit.
“This coalition aims to directly address Nigeria’s critical housing deficit by creating sustainable, accessible, and affordable housing solutions for its citizens. We can transform Nigeria’s housing landscape with one partnership at a time. ‘’
