Mayor Blangiardi and Bloomberg Harvard City Hall Fellow Jada Rossman
HONOLULU– Mayor Rick Blangiardi today announced that the City and County of Honolulu has been selected to host a Bloomberg Harvard City Hall Fellow, welcoming Harvard University Graduate School of Design alumna Jada Rossman as a Housing Policy Fellow for a two-year placement.
Rossman will be organizationally located within the City’s Managing Director’s Office and will report directly to Managing Director Mike Formby. In this role, she will dedicate a substantial portion of her time to working on housing deregulation with Gavin Thornton, Director of Housing Policy within the Department of Housing and Land Management. She will also explore ways to streamline processes and reduce bureaucracy in other City departments, making services more accessible and easier for residents.
“We are genuinely excited to welcome Jada Rossman to our team through the Bloomberg Harvard fellowship,” said Mayor Rick Blangiardi. “Her skills and experience will strengthen our efforts to address the city’s most critical priorities, especially in housing and regulatory reform. Being selected to host a fellow, underscores our commitment to innovative, forward-looking approaches that improve quality of life for our residents.”
The Bloomberg Harvard City Hall Fellowship places recent Harvard master’s and professional degree graduates in city halls across the United States, where they collaborate with municipal leaders to advance innovative solutions to pressing local challenges. Fellows receive extensive training, mentorship, and professional development while helping cities deliver more effective and equitable services.
Rossman, who earned her Master of Urban Planning from Harvard University earlier this year, brings a strong background in community engagement, affordable housing, and equitable development. Her previous work includes designing homeownership readiness programs in Pittsburgh, developing neighborhood surveys and conducting mapping and data analysis to support community development projects, and partnering with schools and nonprofits to create inclusive, people-centered public spaces.
“I’m honored to join the City and County of Honolulu through the Bloomberg Harvard City Hall Fellowship,” added Jada Rossman. “I’m excited to listen, learn, and work alongside city leaders and community members to contribute to positive change and advance equitable and sustainable housing solutions.”
