West Hartford Fellowship Housing
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Almost three months after celebrating the completion of the first phase of a massive senior housing complex overhaul, the agency behind the project is celebrating again.
West Hartford Fellowship Housing, Thursday, Aug. 28, announced the official closing on financing for Phase II of its multi-phase redevelopment project at its Starkel Road campus.
Meanwhile, demolition of Phase II buildings has officially begun, marking another milestone in WHFH’s plan to provide modern, affordable, and accessible senior housing, the agency said in a statement.
“This is a momentous step forward for the entire Fellowship Housing community,” said WHFH Chief Executive Officer Mark Garilli. “We’re thrilled to see our residents thriving in the new Phase I apartment homes and to now begin the work of transforming the next section of our campus.”
The Phase II promises more state-of-the-art studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments designed to meet the evolving needs of seniors.
They will feature enhanced accessibility, energy-efficient systems, and updated community amenities.
WHFH officials said residents who transitioned from existing units have expressed excitement about their new surroundings and the upgraded quality of life.
Phase II, now under demolition, will pave the way for the construction of additional modern housing units.
WHFH thanked its development team, business partners, residents, staff, and the Town of West Hartford for their “continued support throughout this transformative process.”
West Hartford Fellowship will be opening the wait list and accepting applications for the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit apartments located on Starkel Road.
Interested applicants may apply online between Tuesday, Sept 2, at 8:30 a.m. and Sept. 22, at 11:59 pm. Applications are also available at the leasing office.
