SPRINGFIELD — Over the past eight years, the Community Preservation Act has helped construct apartments for the chronically homeless, replace roofs on churches, restore a historic fountain and build playgrounds accessible to disabled children.
Now the committee is looking for community input to decide what projects should be funded next year with the money it receives from a 1.5% surcharge applied to real estate tax bills and additional money granted by the state.
