Later this month, you’ll get the chance to visit, as well as learn all about a stunning, sustainable home we featured back in March: a Scarborough dream home shaped by sustainability.
Designed by North Freo architectural studio MDC Architects, the home is all about challenging Perth’s housing status quo – collaborating with homeowners committed to building a long-term, flexible family home with high-performance sustainability at the forefront.
Charged with building a home “no larger than absolutely necessary”, over half the block has been dedicated to productive gardens – but the northern aspect of the home means that almost an entire face of the home opens up to this outdoor space, balancing thermal performance, passive solar functionality and, importantly, creating a generous sense of scale to living spaces that are more modest in size.
As part of the 19th edition of DesignFreo’s event series On Location, you’ll be able to check out the home in person as well as hear from the homeowners and architect Matt Delroy-Carr about sustainable design practices.
