The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) has commenced a two-day City Profiling Workshop under the Urban and Municipal Development Fund (UMDF), an initiative supported by the African Development Bank (AfDB) through a Public-Private Partnership.
The workshop was opened on August 27, 2025, and seeks to assess the metropolis’ spatial, economic, social and environmental conditions to guide sustainable urban planning and development strategies.
Bringing together key stakeholders—including local government officials, heads of departments at STMA, urban planners, community leaders, assembly members and technical experts—the session will facilitate data collection, identify challenges and explore opportunities for the future growth of Sekondi-Takoradi.
The initiative forms part of the AfDB’s broader agenda to promote inclusive, resilient and sustainable urban development across African cities through the UMDF.
